REHIRE ORIENTATION TIMELINE
Thanks everyone for saving the date of November 1st for our rehire orientation. Here is a tentative schedule for the day.
12PM – 2PM: Lockers, Uniforms, Paperwork, Passes (PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR I9 DOCUMENTATION PASSPORT OR DRIVES LICENSE + SSC or BIRTH CERTIFICATE)
2PM – 4PM: Presentation in the Vertical
Lunch will be provided from 12PM – 2PM
For those who cannot make Nov 1st we will run the orientation again on Nov 5th on the same schedule. Please email Sue.Overby@skihood.com if you plan on attend on Nov. 5th.
WINTER KICK-OFF WEEKEND
We will be kicking off the winter season with specials in our retail department for passholders on the weekend of Nov. 1st and 2nd. The Alpenstube will also have operating hours on those days along with an evening dinner (Reservations must be made in advance for dinner).

PASS DEADLINE
For those of you that have friends asking about our pass deadline for early season pass rates it will be Nov. 2nd this season. So make sure they purchase before then to avoid paying more than they need to.
INSTRUCTOR PAY MATRIX UPDATE
We are making an upward adjustment to the instructor pay matrix this season. Cert 1 wages will be moving up by $.55/hr, Cert 2+ Wages will be moving up $.25/hr. In addition those who commit to working full time will make and extra $1/hr. We will also have a new conversion commission, for any first time student you have in your lesson you will receive $1 for every time that student comes back and takes another lesson during the season.

Extra Credentials add $.50 to base wage (Not to exceed high end of cert range): Specialist training, Each level of Certification outside of primary discipline, Skiing/Riding or Teaching Module passed for next level of primary discipline.
UPGRADE COMMISSION
For any student taking a 2 hour group lesson that an instructor upgrades to a 4 hour group lesson the instructor receives a $3 commission.
CONVERSION COMMISSION
$1 every time a student you had in a first time group lesson comes back for another lesson. First time program lesson commissions kick in after program completion. No additional commission for first time private students.

FULL TIME INSTRUCTORS
We are hoping to grow our full time staff to 50 instructors this season from about 30. We will not be offering the full time bonus as in past season but we have increased the pay and other benefits this season for full time instructors. If you are interested in working full time this season please email Mark.Fischer@skihood.com. One thing we are asking of full timers this season with the increased benefits is that they be willing to learn to teach at least a first time lesson in the opposite discipline.
Here are the new benefits for full time instructors:
- Full Timers will receive an extra $1/hr on their teaching wage
- Full Timers will have the ability to earn more than minimum wage on their non-teaching wage for those regularly working a point of sale or rental teching.
- Meadows will pay the PSIA dues for full time instructors that make it through the season in good standing.
- Meadows will pay for business cards and a profile on https://snowproportal.com/ for full time instructors. (We will also have a special offer on this available to part-timers)
PART TIME COMMITMENT OPTIONS
We have finalized our commitment options for part-time instructors this season and below are the shift requirements and pass benefits.
24 SHIFTS MINIMUM
Earns Individual and Dependent Season Passes
18 SHIFTS MINIMUM
Earns individual season pass
16 SHIFTS – Must work day shifts every Saturday & Sunday Jan 12th – Mar 3rd.
Earns individual season pass
10 SHIFTS – All Shifts must be Peak days, 8 of the shifts must be on Program weekends in Jan and Feb (Only available to returning instructors Level 1 Certified or higher)
Earns 5 open to close tickets that can be used on off days or the option to purchase an individual season pass for $199
ONLINE SCHEDULING
We hope to launch our online scheduling system towards the end of next week. Thanks to Tyler Barnes we should have some nice improvements to our online scheduling this season, look for more details towards the end of next week.
