Hello Kate and Erin, thank you for contacting Mt Hood Meadows and sharing your thoughts in the email below.
I too am very passionate in looking for ways to give back to our communities and to the individuals who may not have the resources to enjoy snow sports as we do.
Although I am not familiar with the “Ski Duck” organization, Mt Hood Meadows does host similar nonprofit organizations throughout the winter that bring people of all ages up to our resort for ski and snowboard lessons.
Here is just a few,
Washington School for the Blind
Northwest Association of Blind Athletes
Outdoors for All
SOS Out Reach
Another opportunity you and Erin may want to consider is to become a ski instructor with us! This would be an excellent way to expand your knowledge of teaching individuals how to ski. You and Erin would receive professional training from our training staff that are members of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) right at Mt Hood Meadows next season.
We offer part time schedule commitments that are designed with students in mind.
Follow this link for more information.
If I can help support you and Erin with anything else please do not hesitate contacting me.
Sincerely,
Mark Fischer

Kate Shultz (Kate184@smapdx.org) asks on the web site about Guest Services / General Information,
Hello,
My name is Kate Shultz my friend Erin Bjorklund and I attend St. Mary’s Academy in Portland and we are both passionate skiers. We were looking for a way to give back this winter, to the ski community that we love so much and in our research we came across an organization, that you may be familiar with, called Ski Duck. Ski Duck is amazing, they take disabled and underprivileged kids skiing and snowboarding.
Erin and I would love to volunteer for Ski Duck and share the joy we get from skiing wth kids who otherwise would not have the opportunity, the only thing is they’re based out of North Lake Tahoe. We were wondering if Meadows (or any other resort in Oregon that you know of) does anything similar to this that could use a couple of passionate volunteers.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Kate
