Hello MLC Returning Instructors!
It’s snowing and the forecast is looking very winter-like – the 2022-23 season is upon us! Check the forecast and road conditions if you are coming to this weekend’s Welcome Home Session on Sunday, as well as next Wednesday’s session, as the extended forecast is for snow through November 12th – and beyond! Bring on La Niña!
Saturday is currently calling for Snow before 8am, then snow showers after 8am. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 32. Very windy. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible. So, plan for winter driving conditions, leave early, bring your ice scraper and winter boots! Returning Instructor Help on Sunday
We need 4 returning instructors to help out in various ways on Sunday. This would be assisting in the uniform department handing out uniform pieces, setting up lunch in the Program Room and directing new and returning instructors to the right locations on-time. If you like to help with this (I know there’ll be quite a few of you who want to help), please send an email to: skischoolsupervisors@skihood.com to let us know you’d be available. Start time would be 9am.
Bus Transportation Sunday (not Wednesday)
Check the team site for the most update-to-date bus schedule for the pre-season and in-season here: https://team.skihood.com/transportation-parking/ There is a team member shuttle scheduled for both sides of the mountain on Sunday, but not Wednesday. Scroll down on the page to see the various schedules for the pre-season.
Sno-Park Permits Required as of 11/1
To get some details on options for purchasing a Sno-Park season permit see this page on the Team Site: https://team.skihood.com/sno-park/ I have found that the state police who issue citations for not displaying your Sno-Park permit on your car, do not start checking until once we are open for public operations, so if you don’t have it by this weekend, you’ll probably be ok. I believe the in-person season parking pass team member price is about $5 less than the on-line price.
How do I re-apply?
Alpine, Snowboard, Nordic and Snowshoe positions are posted on-line. Login to the Dayforce website (not app) at this address: https://www.dayforcehcm.com/mydayforce/login.aspx Note: you do not need to add all your past resume experience when re-applying – you may simply hit the “cancel” button on that section. If you do NOT know your password – guest what? We don’t either. First try the built-in password reset function on the Dayforce website. If that doesn’t work, then you’ll need to send an email to jobs@skihood.com and let them know you need your password reset. Fun fact: password resets are the top function on most apps!
You’re Hired! Next Steps?
If you have re-applied, Claire Thomforde-Garner, our awesome Admin Supervisor, has sent (or will be sending) you an email about next steps. These steps include doing all the on-boarding steps, watching a few videos, completing your pass agreement forms, etc. – all in the convenience of your own home. This is paid time per her email message, but don’t just click and submit all the forms in 5 minutes or less – since the videos have some important information and take about 1 hour to consume. If all your forms submissions come in at once, we’ll know you didn’t really watch the videos. ☹ If you haven’t received the email, you might check your other email address, as some of you have multiple email addresses in your Dayforce profile.
Welcome Home Sessions & Instructor Social
The Welcome Home Sessions will start at 10:30AM for all returning instructors, top floor of the North Lodge in the Vertical. If this is your first season at Meadows as a New Instructor or an Experienced Instructor from another mountain, your session starts at 9AM in the Children’s Learning Center in the Sahale Lodge. All session rotations will end at 4PM on both days with a social starting at 4:15PM in Sahale / Bull Wheel Bar.
Be sure to re-apply – see above – then signup to attend our Welcome Home session on either November 6 or November 9. You only need to attend one of these dates. For those of you who cannot make it – you’re going to miss out – but we’ll have an on-line substitute so you can get most of the same information. Please let us know what day you are coming by using the RSVP form here:
Nov. 6: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/events/mlc-welcome-home-session-training
Nov. 9: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/events/mlc-welcome-home-session-training-2
Uniform Requests On-line
If you’d like to have an easy-going, move-in day on November 6 or November 9, be sure to submit a uniform request form on the Team site. If you do so before Friday, we will have your uniform in your locker when you arrive. How awesome is that? See the Team Site for submitting your uniform request: https://team.skihood.com/uniform-sizing-request/
Looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend and next Wednesday!
Yours in snowsports,
Tyler
