I hope your summer has been awesome and you’ve had a chance to make it to the mountain for a scenic chair ride, hike, mushroom hunt, movie on the deck, stargazer dinner, culinary event, wedding, etc. As you know, Josey Rice is the Summer Operations Manager and under her guidance and with the support of the summer operations team, it’s been a jam packed summer and one of the busiest summers on record.
We have a few more weeks of summer operations (thru 9/5) and encourage you to come on up. Josey, Peter and I have some VIP passes that we will share with you for your next visit to Meadows before the end of the summer – but only if you complete a returning instructor application – see below!

Returning Alpine & Snowboard Instructor Applications are open!
If you are planning to return as an alpine or snowboard instructor this winter, all you have to do is log into the Dayforce website with your credentials and navigate to the “Careers” menu item or look for “careers” in your favorite’s sidebar. When you login for the first time you’ll see a new dashboard called The Hub that the HR Team hopes will make the Dayforce experience on the website a little more user friendly. See screenshot below.
Once on the Career’s page, if you type in “Instructor Returning” in the search bar you’ll find the best 2 options.
Instructor – Full-time Returning (taught last season) or the Instructor – Part-time Returning (taught last season).
Please try NOT to apply for the wrong positions. The first 2 returning part-time applicants were Brett McClaren and Zdenek Zumr – who applied to the general application because we didn’t have the Instructor Applications open yet! I wonder if Walker will be the first full timer to re-apply this season again?

If you are a Nordic instructor or snowshoe guide, please stand by as we are getting those job postings created shortly.
Supervisor Positions are Available
A few of our supervisors have let us know that they are … going back to school, taken an awesome new full-time, year-round job in town, taken a job at another resort outside the Northwest, or looking to advance their careers outside the industry. We wish all the best to them!
What that means to you is an opportunity to be part of the leadership team of Oregon’s top Snowsports School at one of the largest “Indy Resorts” of our size in the nation. The best way to apply for a supervisor position is using the same method as above. Login to Dayforce website (not app) and then check the “Careers” menu for open positions. Then type in “Ski & Snowboard School” in the search field and you’ll find the available Supervisor positions.
We’ve already heard from returning supervisors who are coming back in their same positions and we have already hired a returning team member to a supervisor position that you’ll be stoked to hear about – but we’re keeping the person’s identity secret for now.

Mt. Hood Meadows joins the Indy Pass Family
You probably heard in July that Meadows is joining the Indy Pass’ coalition of independent resorts for the 22/23 season. Meadows has closely followed the Indy Pass since it was introduced and has been impressed with the pass’s ability to drive off-peak visits to participating ski areas. We are hopeful this relationship will attract visitors mid-week who are coming from outside the region.
Most Indy Pass customers are from outside the NW. Just so you know, the Indy Pass is not an unlimited pass to come to Meadows anytime – it’s essentially a 2-day pass good at All Mt. + resorts across the country – see this link: https://www.indyskipass.com/ Mt. Hood Meadows team members will have access to also purchase an Indy Pass at a 30% discount (for around $130), which gets you additional access to even more resorts outside our employee exchange program.
Finally, if you are planning to come up to Meadows in the next 3 weeks, after you have re-applied, and want a VIP Pass for yourself – we have a limited number per day – please email me 24 hours in advance of your visit and I’ll set something up for you!
Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you this fall!
