Hello Amazing MLC Instructors!

Tomorrow is going to be another busy day for guest visits and lessons. Plan on the main lot closing by 7:42AM because the drive should be relatively easy. Do watch for black ice if you drive. Catch the team member shuttle if you are able.

This is the last weekend of February Program lessons, and we have more than 70 lesson in Adults, about 120 in the CLC plus the 250+ in SnoBlasters / Trail Blazers! It’s going to be an all-hands-on-deck kind of weekend again, with the MLC helping other departments – like maze control, boot fitting in the Rental Center before morning lessons, greeting and line management at equipment pickup. Don’t worry – we’ll have something for you to do.

Don’t think that we don’t need you – we do – please make your shift or, if you’re sick, call out this evening so we know you’re not going to make it. Leave early to make it here on time. Drink water. Get a good night’s sleep. Wear sunscreen! AND … we are having an “end of Jan/Feb” programs social in the Vertical North on Sunday at 4PM. Hope you can join us!

MLC Social – Sunday at 4PM in Vertical / Vertical North

Did someone say party? Yes! We’d like to celebrate with you the completion of January and February multi-week programs – this is a seasonal milestone and it’s time to get together and revel in our accomplishments – a tough start to the season, 12.5 feet of snow and a busy February! We’ll have pizza, appetizers, and snacks in the Vertical North for MLC team members. Drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, will be for sale at the Vertical bar at retail prices – but I hear there might be a tab open (we’ll see). The social is for the MLC department and is from 4PM to 6PM. See you then! All ages are welcome at the social.

End of Payroll 2/23 – Get your Timesheets Done!

Today is the end of the pay period so all your timesheets for the last two weeks should be in by today. Actually, they should all be in at the end of the day you worked, but if you forgot a day, please review your timesheets and get these in. We have 400 instructors on our team, and it makes it very difficult for us to meet the payroll deadline if you don’t get these in RIGHT AWAY.

Invite Guests to Join us Again.

A personal invitation to come back for a next visit is important. Be sure to suggest guests scan the QR code on the back of your business card (you too can scan it to see all the info), which has great details about your students’ next visit. That information can be found right here: https://www.skihood.com/explore/your-next-visit Be sure to hand out business cards, guest satisfaction surveys and tip envelopes!

I compiled all the guest satisfaction surveys that have come in to date and we are trending at a 9.87 out of 10 on 257 surveys submitted by guests!

About Scott McCarty: “This was my second time in Mt. hood Meadows. The first time I didn’t book any classes and I kept falling the whole time. I was super anxious about going again. I was so worried before class but Scott’s instructions really helped me focus and feel comfortable skiing. Even though we showed up late to class, Scott made sure he spent enough time giving us the lesson. The highlight for me was him teaching us how to turn. I still need ALOT of practice but at least now I know what to work on. Scott was super friendly and patient. I’d definitely book classes again!”

About Heather Brannon:My son Miles and his best friend Mason Richard have taken 2 lessons with Heather and have been extremely excited about both of them.  They continue to talk about how great Heather is even through the next week after the lessons.  They both say, “She is awesome!”

About Haoran: “I had an excellent lesson with Haoran today. She gave me very actionable tips to improve my riding. She explained the movements in way that was easy to understand and follow, as well as explained the rationale, body mechanics and physics of the movements (which is very helpful to me).  She asked for my feedback multiple times throughout the day to make sure I was getting the most out of the lesson. She is an amazing teacher and I would love to take more lessons from her in the future.”

About Suzanne Buxton: “Suzanne was so good as my instructor. She spotted a few things to correct my skiing in the first few minutes. She was really helpful by demonstrating and she took her time meeting everyone’s needs. I would definitely recommend, and I’d love to have her again to keep progressing.”

About Gabe Staggs:This was my second lesson at Meadows, both which were great experiences. Gabe was a phenomenal instructor and I really feel that I progressed in this lesson! He helped me with readjusting my bindings and we talked about gear in addition to the lesson itself. He addressed everything that I wanted to work on and was able to identify areas that I need to work on. I would absolutely recommend him to others and hope we get to do a lesson together again!”

About Jacksun: “My Daughter absolutely loved JackSun! We really made her feel comfortable and confident! Would highly recommend him!”

See you this weekend!
