Hello MLC Instructors!
I am here at the mountain right now conducting our first part time new instructor training course indoors! This is the first time we have conducted all indoor session 1 training since I began leading new instructor training circa Y2K! It was fun and engaging despite there being not enough snow to be sliding around – we did first timer lessons in the Vertical, as well as had a team building hike to Umbrella Falls! Fret not, snow is on the way with up to 16 inches expected by Wednesday night – let’s hope the forecasters are right!
Company Orientation
Thank you all for coming to the company orientation. It was great to reconnect with so many of you and I’m stoked you are all joining us again this season. If you missed it, don’t worry, it was recorded and you’ll have a chance to view the company orientation as in the past on the instructor portal. Once we have the video posted for viewing we will let you all know.
Schedule Submissions
We are still working on the schedule submission form. It is not quite ready. Don’t worry, we will email you just as soon as it’s ready. There is no need to email me, or Jilli or Josey or Peter (or anyone) to ask when it’s going to be ready or if you missed an email about it. I PROMISE TO SEND THE EMAIL TO YOU ALL WHEN IT’S READY.
Rehire Clinics
We are in the process of updating the instructor portal with the Rehire Clinics. These will be posted at the same time that the schedule submission form is ready, so please stand by.
Instructor Portal Password
When the time comes you will need to login to submit your schedule, sign up for Rehire Clinics and/or watch the Company Orientation video. You can reset you password for the instructor portal here: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/password-reset – But again there is no hurry to do any of this just yet.
Compulsory Helmet Usage
Ski areas across the country are beginning to implement employee helmet programs which has shown light on the need to develop an employee helmet program at Mt Hood Meadows. It will be mandatory for you to wear a helmet while teaching and attending on-snow paid training this season. Attached is the MHM Helmet Policy in PDF format for your review.
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday week! Think snow!
