Hello all,
Wow! What a storm we’ve been getting. I hope everyone can come up here safely and enjoy this amazing snow that has blanketed the mountain in an incredible, magical frozen wonderland. Just as a reminder, please ski or ride with a friend and be aware of tree wells, roped off areas and closures. This is for your safety as well as the safety of others. Share the love, ski with a friend!

First Week of Programs – Due to last weeks’ cancelled Programs, this weekend starts the beginning of Weekend Programs. If you signed up for February Programs, please note it starts on Feb 11th & 12th, not the 4th & 5th.
Extras
World’s Largest Lesson – We want to thank everyone that was involved in the World’s Largest Lesson this year. We didn’t get to the goal of 300 participants this year (we had 97 participants), but everyone had such a great time and there was nothing but smiles and good vibes all around. Now we just have to wait for all the data to be counted to see if the nation beat the record.

I hope you had a great weekend! I am reaching out to provide feedback on my experience with the on hill instructor Frankie Velasquez as he taught the beginner group for the Friends of SOS Outreach volunteers for snowboarding instruction this past weekend on 1/7 + 1/8.
The overall experience was truly amazing as it relates to being in the beginner group and under Frankie’s teachings. He was an incredible instructor who was highly attentive to every individual in the group. He had compassion and understanding towards all new beginners and ensured that we all got the teachings and one on one time needed. His ability to express patience while teaching the fundamentals and "how to’s" of instruction were unparalleled.
Not only was he personable on the hill but made sure to connect with each of our group members during part of his lunch time which was awesome for all of us as we all felt the sincerity in his drive to connect and teach us. All of us had significantly improved from the first day through the second. I feel he is a valuable member of the Mt. Hood Meadows Snowboarding instructor staff as he really has left the group with a positive experience.
