Friday May 3 & Saturday May 4 – Yes, we need your help!
I know I sound like a broken record, however this is your opportunity to enrich people’s lives, make up that scheduled day you missed, be here for Pond Skim (Saturday), as well as the final day of the season (Saturday). With many of our full timers leaving for their summer gigs and lingering injuries we have a total of 9 instructors who have committed to being here Friday and 9 on Saturday. We need 2 more snowboard and alpine instructors tomorrow and 4 more snowboard and alpine instructors on Saturday – at least for the morning lesson times on both days. On Saturday you can then enjoy the Pond Skim in the afternoon. I’m going to make this really easy: If you can be here on either day, please simply “reply all” to this email (or text) with the day you can be here and we’ll add you to the schedule! Thank you!

Locker and Uniforms!
Per our previous email messages, please turn in your uniform and clean out your locker by the end of the day Saturday (or sooner). The Uniform and Laundry Team would appreciate getting your uniform BEFORE the end of the day on Saturday. Anything left in your locker after this weekend will be taking to the locker room for temporary storage, then donated before the end of the month. If you really want your gear, please remove it from your locker.
Exit Interviews – Share with us how to make it better!
Maybe you have completed your schedule and turned in your uniform and emptied your locker – awesome – thank you! Many of you have also completed an Exit Interview (on-line) and have made some really awesome suggestions on how we can improve next season. These comments are very valuable as you have input on how we can make it even better next season. Top 10 Teaching Hour Instructors – Full Time & Part Time – Wow you rock!
Talk about enriching lives – let’s celebrate the commitment these top instructors gave of themselves to enrich the lives of others (and themselves). Our top 10 Full Time Teaching Hours pros are: Brian Beardsley, Greg DeHaven, Forrest Anton-Erik, Jesse Cook, Ryan Coussens, Aden Moree-Sanders, Lucy Swafield, Erik Nordland, John Bailey and Ryan Colesar – all teaching more than 275 hours this season! Our top 10 Part Time Teaching Hour pros are: Brian James (144), Thomas Wong (134.75), Keeley Brownback (115.5), Immo Singleton (104.75), Kent Nelson (100.75), Scot McKnight (99.75), Kevin Williamson (99), Loren LaFleur (95.5), Zdenek Zumr (88) and Suzanne Buxton (87.5). We should all be impressed with these individuals’ level of commitment to teaching – truly remarkable! I think we have another award in the making for next season!
Goal Hours – Being a contributing team member – Enriching lives!
As mentioned above, we have compiled the season teaching hours for every instructor on our team – plus schedule change requests, call outs for non-sickness reasons, etc. which really paints a picture of our team. Of our 24 shift part time instructors a whopping 72% met their goal of 60 teaching hours. Of our 18 shift commitment team members a reasonable 58% met their goal of 45 teaching hours. That does not seem very good you might contend, however in looking at the low end of the teaching hour commitment there were more than 20 instructors who submitted an 18 shift commitment, but taught specifically less than 18 hours the whole season (that’s 1 whole lesson for every 2 shifts they were here), which brings the average down. If we remove these low teaching hour performers from the equation that moves the overall success rate of meeting the goals hours to 68% – which is quite good considering all the various reasons why someone might not meet their goal hours – injury, unexpected car troubles, illness, etc. Yes, there are many factors involved in fulfilling your goal hours and the management team is planning to continue to improve instructor scheduling, utilization – yes, pay! (more on that later), so we can make sure that when you are here you are able to teach enough lessons to reach your goal hours. Or if you are on track to meet your hours, let someone else teach who needs to get back on track to meet their goal hours.
