Hello Fellow Instructors!

We have had some great “spring” skiing this week, with a forecast for some more white stuff falling this evening and over the weekend. Please check out some of the information below like Early Load, Fun Boxes and Banked Turns 2.0 ….

Early Load Clinics – 7:45am on Feb. 10 and Feb. 15

You spoke, we listened! We are offering an Early Load Clinic – one this Saturday February 10th  and one on February 16th, plus more to come. You MUST sign up in advance for this clinic and be ready to ski or ride by 7:45am on February 10th. Please get all the details at the link below and signup. The first 25 lucky instructors WHO SIGN UP will be allowed to participate. If you don’t know how to sign up for a clinic on the instructor portal, now is the time to learn. This is voluntary, unpaid training however is a great opportunity to get some tips before your first lesson of the day.

This Monday – February 12 – Snowboarders – we need you!

We need 3 snowboard instructors. We have been very short staffed on Mondays on the Snowboard side – please add a day! You can add a day by clicking this link: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/schedule-change-requests

President’s Day Weekend – Especially Sunday – we need you!

You’ve heard it before – we need you on Sunday. And as per my previous email, get the details on the perks for adding a Sunday in February. For those of you working on meeting your schedule commitment this season, if you are able to switch or pick up 2 or more commitment days for February Sundays we will count them as 1.5 shifts. For example, if you are able to switch 4 of your currently scheduled commitment days to the 4 Sundays in February we will count them as 6 shifts! More specific details can be found on this page of the instructor portal: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/information/february-sundays-shift-details

New Kids on the Box

We have some teaching boxes at the top of Ballroom Carpet now! It’s for you to introduce a flat box, rainbow box and an up-down box. These are Sunkid park features and are perfect for introducing freestyle before heading to any “parks”. They are at the top of the Ballroom Carpet, on the right, uphill from the unloading area ideally placed for sessioning the features and for you to teach on these without disrupting the flow in a park – awesome!

Fun Zone Feature Re-worked

I had the opportunity to ride-along with Garrett Hemmer, our dedicated Fun Zone Learning Terrain Feature Snowcat Operator who has been helping us enhance the first timer experience this season. Nothing like getting started at midnight for my scheduled shift today! He did all the work (I just rode along), and we came up with some great adjustments to the Banked Turns on both the Ballroom Fun Zone and the Buttercup Fun Zone. If you have not yet taken your lessons into these areas you should – the Banked Turns are now super awesome! Don’t know what the Buttercup Fun Zone is? ·         Braedyn had an awesome time and I can’t say enough about his instructor Mike Hall. He made the lesson fun, but still taught Braedyn basics. We spent the afternoon on the magic carpet and Braedyn just kept making progress!

·         The instructor was really friendly and gave great constructive feedback. My child trusted his knowledge and expertise.

·         Tamar, my daughter, 4.5 years old. First time sking. All the day, after the lesson finished, she said I want to come again and Bryan will be my instructor, he is the best!

·         The second lesson was with Roy and he was seriously so great. I was doing so much better than I ever expected to that quickly.

·         My instructor (Kenny) was awesome! The best so far!

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend! Leave early, drive safely (or take the bus) and come with the attitude to enrich people’s lives.

“It may be just another first timer lesson for you, but it’s a once in a lifetime experience for your students.”

Tyler
