Hello Team,

Many of you are aware of the accident that took place on Hwy 26 Saturday evening. It is with a heavy heart that I tell you this accident has affected those near and dear to our Ski and Snowboard School family. Nancy "GG" Ludwig and her husband David Weiss were involved in the collision on 26 which resulted in David’s passing and serious injuries for GG. Josey was able to speak with a family member this morning and they reported that in true GG fashion, she is in good spirits and did not suffer any internal or brain injuries in the collision however she will lose her left leg.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting or working with GG in the CLC then you may have eaten some of her highly coveted banana bread or seen her outside in the Funzone with her yellow helmet with green pigtails coming out the sides. Working with children at Meadows is by far one of GG’s passions and she often speaks about teaching the littlest children skiing year round. During the off season GG met David and they fell in love and were married. GG made sure David knew how important Meadows was to her and she even convinced David to be hired as one of our new Fun Zone Lift Operators. David was going to start this weekend and, he too, was enthused at starting his new job. I spoke with him Friday afternoon and he had me laughing asking me if I needed an order of banana bread and if I had seen any snow frogs recently. David will be missed.

What can we do? GG has given a lot of love to Meadows and it is time that we give it back to her in a big way. She is going to have a long road to recovery and is going to have to redefine many aspects of her daily life. A GoFundMe page has been created by Josey to raise funds for GG. If you would like to donate, any amount will help. You can follow the link by clicking here https://www.gofundme.com/gg-ludwig-recovery-fundIf you can’t afford to donate an alternate way to help can be as easy as sharing the link and story on your social media page.

Please keep GG, David and their families in your thoughts and prayers. On Saturday, counselors will be available if anyone would like to speak with a professional. They will be available Saturday from 7:30-5. There will be two group counseling sessions available in the Alp Loft, 8-9 am and 3:30-4:30. The counselor will be available to meet with individuals as well in the White River Room.  Your managers, supervisors and HR are always available as well.

If you are experiencing difficulty about this or any other issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your co-workers, supervisors, HR or the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP provides for limited free counseling, is available to all employees and our families – it is completely anonymous and can be accessed by calling 1-866-750-1327 or go to www.myrbh.com password: gomeadows.
