Hello MLC Instructors!
The weather is looking favorable for a great Memorial Day Weekend at the mountain. Come up and enjoy skiing and riding on Cascade Express – partly sunny with snow showers all weekend. Shower activity with current temps suggest a possibility of a dusting of new snow all weekend. Please join us for some late Spring turns – your employee passes are valid. As the weekend approaches, we’ll be announcing the lift operations schedule which will be based on weather conditions from day to day. There will be food (and bar) services available all weekend, too! Plus, we have broken ground on the Sahale Lodge– so come on up and see what’s happening!
We will be celebrating Memorial Day weekend on the mountain by opening up Cascade Express for some wide-open snow field skiing Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8 AM to 2 PM (conditions permitting). Check out the blog post on Memorial Day weekend for more details: https://www.skihood.com/about-us/meadows-blog/posts/2019/04/winter-summer-clash-meadows-offers-memorial-day-weekend-operations
Spring GS Camp for Instructors – Pro Deal @ $25 per day
Come take your skiing to the next level with Giant Slalom Race Training on Cascade Express. Maybe you’re a veteran GS skier or just wanting to see what it’s all about. Come to this 1, 2 or 3 day camp to learn about GS racing and improve your skiing in general by challenging yourself inside a GS Race Course. This camp is intended as a skiing improvement opportunity using GS Race Training, so even if you’re not a ski racer you’ll learn and have a good time. We have some of our MHM Trainers and PSIA-NW DCL / Tech Team members queued up to help lead these camps. Come join us – it’ll be super fun!
We are offering the Spring GS Camp for $25 per day to MLC Instructors (normal guest rate is $229 + $49 per day lift access). The $25 fee helps offset the cost of course setup, maintenance (salt, slipping, etc.) and our trainer coaches. To reserve a 1 day, 2 day or 3 day spot, please use the form on this page: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/events/memorial-day-weekend-gs-race-camp
Solar Ski Historical Note
I believe this will be the first time since the inception of the Solar Ski Season back in 1995 that we’ve re-opened for operations on Daisy and Cascade Express only. If you’re up this weekend, look to the left of the Daisy lift at the top unloading ramp for the stairs leading up to the platform. These stairs were added in 1995 to assist skiers / riders to get to the Daisy platform for downloading during the 1995 Solar Ski Season.
Keep your fingers crossed – it looks like we won’t need to download this weekend. This is a great opportunity to increase your vertical for the 18-19 season. Hope to see you this weekend!
