Hello MHM Instructors!

It’s been an amazing few Spring days up here this week. Kids Camp was well attended, guests are smiling and enjoying the weather, the Vista Ridge route off the top of Vista is AWESOME and we’ve had more than 750 people come through the vista experience (last weekend and the weekend before) to get their photos taken and receive a free hot chocolate at the Schuss. Today was the ideal Vista Experience.

If you haven’t fulfilled your schedule commitment for the season, there are less than 30 days left in the season, so be sure to use this link to add a commitment day: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/schedule-change-requests

There’s something for everyone in this email, so read on …

Spring Uniform – What’s appropriate? Spring Shirts are in!

The official Ski & Snowboard School uniform pieces are: Green Outer Parka, Green Inner Softshell, Grey Pants. You may wear your own grey pants (if they are close to the same color) or your own black pants. During the Springtime when we have awesome weather (like today), you may wear your personal Hawaiian shirt with a nametag, or a 50th Anniversary Spring T-shirt.

Last year’s yellow 50th Anniversary T-Shirts are OK and available now, or THIS YEAR’S green color Spring T-Shirt (which will be here NEXT week). We have limited quantities of each available in Employee Services, but if you want one of the new colored shirts you’ll have to wait until they arrive or wear your personal Hawaiian shirt for now.

Once the new shirts are in, Full Time instructors may pick one up from Employee Services (your name is on a list), or part time instructors may purchase one for $10 – again where? Employee Services. There are some stipulations to wearing the official Spring T-shirt as follows:

Be sure to nominate co-worker of the year here:

Level I Exams – April 15 and 21 (not April 8th – lack of signups)

These are the 2 weekend dates for the Alpine and Snowboard Level I exams this season at Mt. Hood Meadows. Sunday April 15 (the April 8th exam was postponed to April 15 because no one signed up) and Saturday April 21. Some of you have been asking for a mid-week exam. Please coordinate this with the other 2 people that want to take the exam with you. Also, you must complete the written exam (on-line, costs $10) and signup for the on-snow modules (on-line, costs $20) two weeks prior to the on-snow exam date. This means this Sunday is the deadline for the April 8 exam. You must also join PSIA-AASI which costs $117 annually with all kinds of great member benefits and pro deals from many manufacturers.

Level II & III Exams (April 14-15) and Specialist Events (April 21-22) @ Meadows

The deadline for the certification written exams is 30 days prior to the on-snow modules. The deadline for the Specialist Workbooks is 2-weeks prior to the on-snow module. If you have not yet signed up for the on-snow modules the time is now to secure a spot. Check the PSIA-NW Event calendar for details: https://www.psia-nw.org/events

PSIA-AASI Member School Clinics – what’s this?

If you are a PSIA-AASI member who joined prior to this year and have not yet taken an exam or educational event this season, we are bringing in a few clinicians so you can get your ed credit right here at Meadows. We pay a substantial amount to bring clinicians here. The cost this season is $50 for the all-day clinic and ed credit ($30 if you just want to attend the clinic with no ed credit). Space is limited. Your $50 payment will be due the morning of the clinic – cash, check or credit card payments are fine. HOWEVER, you must sign up in advance to reserve a spot. Please see the links below for details…

Pig Tales – you pay, we tell!

When you pay the pig you must confess too! Here’s some of the latest “pig tales”. Tom W. had a Klingon on Buttercup ($5). Jeff Ely was doing what Jeff does best in the park – you know what I mean, right? ($5). Joe Parker – Nose butter from groomed to powder … whoops – in a PVQ! ($2). Taba did something, dropped by and paid Jerry the pig. The Ski & Snowboard School end of the season PAR-TAY is coming … you know you owe the pig!

Daily Afternoon Clinics

Now that nights are over, we’ll have clinic happening at 1:15pm meeting in the Adult Lesson meeting area for those who don’t get work or are not scheduled to work. Check the clinic calendar here: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/calendar

See you this weekend!

Tyler
