Hello All,
Good News! GG reached out to Hallie today and so we got an update on how she is doing.
GG is doing well and is, of course, in high spirits. She called Hallie to make sure that the snow frogs that were in her uniform pocket were brought out and tossed under the kids skis while she was away. She also mentioned a cute Doctor that would be perfect for Hallie, if she chose to meet him. (We are all hopeful she will try J) As of right now, GG is still in the ICU, but should be moved to a retirement home located in Hillsboro in the near future to help her with her rehabilitation. At that point, we believe, she will be able to receive visitors. We will get the update if she needs to have those visitors be placed on a list or not.
When asked how she was feeling, GG replied that she was not made to lay down and die, so she already has plans to come up and ski with us again. Her plan was for next weekend, but I think the Doctors may have another idea on when that will be possible. We will keep you posted. I believe we have a sit-ski with her name on it and some very qualified instructors to take her out.
We are also excited to announce that we have exceeded the GoFundMe Fundraiser for GG. Due to everyone’s support, we have raised $5,085 from 80 people in just 10 days and 454 shares! For those of you who could not donate money, we thank you for your sharing this fundraiser on your social media profiles. The kind words and encouragement were so wonderful to read and I know GG is definitely gaining strength from them. Cascade Ski Camp has also raised $1,000 through their members and we have had other individuals give cash that will be given to GG as well.
We are overwhelmed with the show of support that our company and department has done for GG, and are so thankful for the family that we have created on Mt Hood.
Once we have more details, we will send out another email to keep everyone updated on GG’s recovery.
