MORNING MEETINGS

With the start of February Programs this weekend we will have mandatory morning meetings at your assigned area at the times below. Those who are assigned to Sno-Blaster will receive a separate email.

PRAISE FOR INSTRUCTORS

My kids ( 4. & 6 yr old), recently had a private with Brian Feucht.  I want to let you know that both kids came out with new skills (they are at completely different levels, and Brian worked with that), and more importantly left the lesson excited about skiing.  They both enjoyed working with Brian (a rarity they they have the same opinion).  Brian also sent me videos of the kids working on key skills, which I appreciated.   Thought you should know my family was impressed with Brian.

Sincerely,

Robert Fiordalice

I have taken dozens of ski lessons in many different countries and NEVER had I such an amazing teacher as Greg. He was professional, patient, caring and talented. I did not want to miss the chance to congratulate your school for having such a great teacher.

Greetings!

Valentina Uribe.

Kids instructors are great with a lot of patience.

Shawn W, one of the instructors was incredible! Thank you.

Our son participated in Snoblasters in January and had a great experience with his instructor, Dennis A Howe.

Chris, our ski instructor was amazing and really taught us the skills we needed to feel comfortable on larger hills.  It was my first time out since a 5th grade field trip and I feel very comfortable on the mountain now.

I had Robert on an Intermediate Skiing lesson (PCC lesson). He was really great!!

Matthew in the ski school was great. Gave very specific instruction and feedback. Kids ready to go again.

My instructor Chris aka ‘Hut’ was FABTASTIC.

Again, Tyler Marshall is an amazing instructor. He was very personable, instilled confidence in everyone in the group, and explained and demonstrated the techniques we needed to learn in a way that everyone could understand. I plan on returning and booking another lesson with Tyler in the near future.

Travis did a fantastic job with my children in the Sat pm Twilight lessons. He was so enthusiastic about skiing that my kids couldn’t stop talking about their night. We skied until 9pm because they didn’t want to stop. Thank you Travis for making their experience so positive and memorable!

Katie my ski instructor was awesome.

WORKPLACE SAFETY

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Mt. Hood Meadows is being recognized, again, as a leader in Employer Safety.  Following on our award last year from the National Ski Area Association, we are being acknowledged with the Governor’s Occupational Safety & Health Conference Employer Safety Program Award.

In response to the question, “How do the activities or actions of the employer contribute to a reduction in injuries, illnesses, or fatalities in the workplace?”, Scott Clark, our Worker’s Compensation Safety Consultant responded:

The proof is in the pudding.  In my almost 20 years of safety consulting, the immediate improvement realized by the concentrated effort to reduce injuries at MHM has been among the most impressive I’ve ever witnessed.  In the second season since the efforts have been in place, not only has the safety culture changed as evidenced by the increased near miss reporting, employee engagement, and constant chatter about “walking like a penguin” and “beware the blue”, but the incident rate and associated costs have plummeted.  A 10 year look at claims history shows the lowest injury rate on record for at least a decade.

High praise from a safety dude.  Congratulations to everyone.  You all made it possible!
