Happy New Year Everyone! This weekend brings the start of programs and this will be a longer update. I want to thank everyone who picked up extra shifts over the holiday period to help out. We certainly went 0 to 60 in no time flat and everyone who was here really pitched in to take care of the guests. Kidski had its second and third busiest days ever Friday Jan 2 and Saturday Jan 3 with 189 and 181 respectively, great job to everyone who helped out. Now onto the weekend update!

CLINIC TIME

Come join us for clinics every night there is night skiing. We have a new clinic time this season which will be 3:45pm hopefully allowing everyone to start earlier and end earlier. Stay tuned for a more in-depth calendar to come out next week but for now please join us Saturday and Sunday 3:45pm at adult lineup for some on-snow time with your fellow instructors.

MORNING MEETINGS

With the start of programs we will have mandatory morning meetings for all schedule instructors tomorrow morning. Meetings will be at your assigned lesson locations at 8:45am except for Sno-Blaster instructors who will meet at 7:45am.

CONSECUTIVE WEEK PROGRAMS

January consecutive week programs start this week. Here is some information that will help serve and direct these guests to the correct location. Please read carefully and share this information with members of your staff who might not have company email.

Check-in Process:

Sno-Blasters – Sno-Blaster participants should proceed directly to the Sno-Blaster room. Even those who need rentals will get them in the Sno-Blaster room.

All other Programs – Trailblazer, High School & Adult Programs should check in at Passholder/Group Services unless they are already ticketed then they can go straight to the rental center, lesson or skiing depending on their needs.

Rentals:

Sno-Blasters – Rentals are done in the Sno-Blaster room.

All other Programs – After checking in at Group Services those programs that need rentals should go to the rental shop and check in with a greeter at the front of the rental shop. The greeter will give them their rental form and direct them to the correct line.

Lesson Times:

Sno-Blasters – Check in at Sno-Blaster room, we recommend getting there at 8am on the first day. Lessons go out from 10 AM – 12 PM and 1 PM – 3 PM.

All other Programs

First Time & Green Lesson meet at 9:45 AM

Blue, Black & Freestyle Lessons meet at 12:45 PM

Full Day Lessons All Levels Meet at 9:45 AM

TECH TRAINING

We are trying to get as many people tech trained as possible to help out in the CLC, programs, and during busy times in rentals. This is only for the Rossignol bindings that we have on our rental skis at Meadows. If we have time, we will also cover some brief info on boot and helmet fitting. Being able to help out with these tasks allows us to get lessons out on time across the mountain. Having more people during busy times helps spread the weight and prevents errors that can complicate your lessons later in the day. It also fills in the paycheck a bit more, especially for those full timers looking for more hours.

This is short notice, but there is one for the programs crew on Friday morning (1/9) at 10:30 after classes go out. This is to get them as prepared as possible for this weekend’s Snoblasters program. Tracy has most of his people on board for that already. We will also have a tech training Saturday night (1/10) at 5:15 or 5:30 once the evening lessons go out. I’m trying to get a feel for how many people can make it on Saturday but we may also have one Sunday if there are enough people that are either on lessons or aren’t on the mountain Saturday. Please find me Friday or Saturday morning and let me know if you’re interested and your availability. We will have others as the season progresses so if you can’t make it this weekend, come find me and we’ll try to get another clinic soon.

With all that in mind, without certification, please refrain from adjusting bindings on the snow as you are not covered by the company’s insurance policy and could potentially harm your students. Even if you’re comfortable with bindings and din settings, please find one our techs and we’ll happily readjust them.
