Outdoor Mask Mandate lifted – as of 11/23/2021

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) announced Tuesday morning that it’s lifting the state’s outdoor mask mandate, effective immediately.

“This rule was implemented in August at the peak of this most recent surge,” said OHA Director Patrick Allen. “This decision takes effect immediately and reflects the overall progress we have seen on the COVID-19 front here in Oregon.”

Vaccination and Weekly testing starts in January #1 – as of 11/19/2021

During the conversation about the OSHA rule and the Mt. Hood Meadows vaccination policy, one item was overlooked and that is, at this time, the national OSHA rule for vaccination or weekly testing for employers with more than 100 employees goes into effect on January 5, 2022. This gives time for those who are planning to get vaccinated but have not done so yet. This aligns with the payment of the $200 vaccine incentive at the end for the first full pay period in January 2022.

The question came up regarding vaccination or testing requirement for new instructor training in the coming weeks; given that the mandate does not go into effect until January 5, 2022, the requirement for testing or vaccination does not apply to any training in November or December.
