Hello Team!
Hope you are enjoying some slightly cooler temps and the last few days of August. Kids are back in school, the mornings are crisp, and we even had some snow at the top of Mt. Hood Express last week! There is a solid vibe of a bountiful winter ahead with the La Niña forecast still likely.
Returning Alpine and Snowboard Instructors – re-apply
The Returning full-time and part-time ski or snowboard instructor applications are up on Dayforce. The returning Nordic and Snowshoe Guide applications are not quite up yet – please stand by for those.
Since you already have a Dayforce account, the way to re-apply and let us know you’re coming back this season is to Login to Dayforce at this URL: Dayforce – the company name is “Meadows” – the user name is “firstname.lastname” and the password is “whatever you set up.”
If you don’t know your password you can use the, “Can’t access your account?” link below the login button to reset your password.
Once you get logged in head to the “hamburger” menu in the upper left, then look for the Careers menu, then choose “Search Jobs”.
From there you will want to select either “Instructor – Returning – Part-time” or “Instructor – Returning – Full-time” or “Junior Instructor” – to find these quickly, you can use the search bar at the top.
If you cannot change your password yourself using the link mentioned above, please send an email to jobs@skihood.com and they can assist you.
Tiana Peterson – Cancer Battle – Go Fund Me – https://gofund.me/8641d461
As you may have heard, Tiana Peterson, MLC Training Supervisor, has been battling cancer for over a year now.
She has been open with her situation and let us know that she felt as though a lesser role this season would be best.
She is hopeful to be back on snow this season as a Trainer and She Shreds Clinic Leader, but this will depend on her energy levels and on-going battles with cancer that has spread to her brain. Her partner, Tiernan Ryden, was hired as a new snowboard instructor last season, but needed to step away from that role to help care for Tiana.
You can read about Tiana and Tiernan’s journey and support them by visiting their Go Fund Me page at this link: https://gofund.me/8641d461
Hannah Sebring – Nordic Manager
We had a lot of interest in the Nordic Center Manager position, both internal and external, and had 3 very strong internal applicants. I am pleased to announce that Hannah Sebring was selected as the Nordic Center and Snowshoe Program Manager. Hannah has worked at the Nordic Center for 3 seasons with last season in the role as Nordic Center Operations Supervisor. We are excited to have her continue to help shape the future of the Nordic Center and Snowshoe programs.
As well, we will be opening the Nordic Center Operations Supervisor position for applicants in a few weeks, so if you know someone who would be interested in a Nordic Supervisor position, please send them our way. We also are in full development of a new Nordic Center facility that will be built in the far east end of the Twilight Parking Lot, with a preliminary goal of it being open Winter of 2025-26. The date of the new Nordic facility will be dependent on many variables including approval from our board of directors to make this capital investment and on what schedule.
Nick Ault – Freeride Team Head Coach
We posted the Freeride Team Head Coach position in mid-July and had quite a few very strong applicants, some of which will likely be joining the Freeride Team as coaches. One applicant was extremely qualified and stood out as an ideal head coach for the Freeride Team. We are please to welcome Nick Ault from Big Sky, Montana to the Meadows Freeride Team Head Coach position.
Nick is an Alpine Level III, Snowboard Level I, Freestyle Specialist 3, Children’s Specialist 2 and an Alpine and Freestyle Examiner in Training in the North Rocky Mountain region of PSIA-AASI. Nick will also come on as a Trainer, helping with new hire and re-hire training, given his experience leading new hire training at Big Sky for the last 2 seasons. He will also be covering for the Adult Lesson Supervisor on their days off, so you’ll have a chance to get to know Nick during the season. While Nick will be new to the area, he has friends who live in White Salmon, WA and Eugene, OR.
MLC Training Supervisor – Position Open
Given Tiana’s decision to take a less-involved role this season we have decided to open the MLC Training Supervisor position for applicants. Tiana will still be involved and has made herself available to assist with the transition to a new Training Supervisor. If you are interested in the position, you can read about it on the PSIA-AASI Job Board here: https://thesnowpros.org/job/ski-snowboard-school-training-supervisor-2/ and apply in Dayforce similar to the Returning Instructor application process mentioned above.
