Subject: Instructor Update 3/28/16

Hi all,

Great Job this week Team!  Thank you everyone for all your hard work, making awesome memories for our guests.  Here is the news for this upcoming week.

Scheduling Needs

·        We have quite a few events coming up this week and could use some help with them.  Especially on Thursday and Friday.  Please contact a supervisor if you are able to pick up a shift.

o   Athletes 4 Cancer – Need 2 Alpine and 1 Snowboard instructor for March 31st and April 1st

o   PE Takeover – Tuesday, March 29th and Friday April 1st

o   5th Grade Ski Day – Thursday, March 31st and Friday, April 1st – need 10 total each day

o   Full Sail Banked Slalom – Saturday, April 2nd – need 8-10 staff members

Upcoming Events

·        End Of Season Party – Sunday, April 24th – we will be having our annual end of season party for Snowsports Services.

o   It is now up to you to vote for Co-Worker of the Year.  The Co-Worker of the Year award should go to the person that you think demonstrates passion for teaching, the mountain and fellow co-workers.  This should be the person you see going above and beyond on and off the snow, and exemplifies our Core Values and “Best in the West” attitude.

o   Contact Sue.Overby@skihood.com for your vote.

Clinics

·         PSIA/AASI

o   On April 23rd and 24th Member Ski School Clinics will be offered if you need education hours for your certification.  You only need to sign for one of these days for education credits.

·         New Instructor Training will be offered on April 2-3rd and April 9-10th.  Attendees must attend both sessions.  Please help spread the word to friends, family and co-workers.  This late season training will provide an opportunity for candidates to be trained, hired and ready to teach for the beginning of next season.

·         With the end of night operations, instructor training clinics will now be offered after each lineup time.  (Subject to staff availability)

Extras

·         We wanted to thank everyone for working so hard over Oregon Spring Break and coming to the Ice Cream and Raffle Party on Sunday.

o   Congratulations to the Grand Prize Winner, Andy James, who won a new pair of skis and Alex Pugliese who won the most days worked, earning herself a special prize and 36 raffle tickets for working 9 days during Spring Break.

o   For those of you who were not present to win, if you see your name, please come see Josey Rice or Hallie Fall and pick up your winnings.

Guest Comments

·         My wife was new to skiing this year.  She is now hooked for life. This is largely due to the awesome lesson instructors ("Jeremy"), and cool atmosphere on and off the slopes.

·         My daughter loved Shawn her ski instructor

·         Kasey did a great job teaching my 4 year old to ski. He showed great patience and my daughter had a great experience.

·         Our Snowboard Instructor, Tyler was great!

·         I have been very pleased with the instruction I have experienced with John Bailey. It keeps me motivated to return to Meadows.

·         I had the fortune of having Avie as my instructor for two lessons in a row – and no one else in my group. She is really awesome and I really appreciate everything I learned from her.

·         I put my 5 year old daughter in full day lessons on Friday and Saturday. Both days the instructors were awesome and so friendly. Brittyn felt very welcomed when she didn’t want us to leave her.  She learned so much and is so ha app to be riding the lift chairs. She has now had 3 lessons at meadows and looks forward to coming again! Thank you for having such a great staff and making our family trips so great.

·         Your Youth lessons and child center staff are great! I am always amazed at the positivity and ease that they exhibit while wrangling all those kids (& parents). KUDOS to all the instructors too!

·         Really liked Carla the ski instructor (private lesson) and Ely (snowboard group)
