Hello fellow snow sports professionals!
More snow is expected in Portland and The Gorge this weekend – so plan on leaving early and please drive carefully! If you live in Hood River you’ve experienced snow on the ground for almost 2 months straight! That’s the most I’ve seen in the last 20 years! All this snow means people will be coming to the mountain late into Spring, so you’ll all be able to fulfill your schedule commitments very easily!
Cross Over (XO) Paid Training!
Don’t forget about the upcoming crossover paid trainings this week and weekend. Want to learn to ride and teach snowboarding? Want to learn to ski and teaching skiing? Then come to one of these upcoming clinics. Please sign up in advance so we know you are coming!

Getting Nationally Certified
Mt. Hood Meadows, among other NW schools, are some of the only schools that can administer the nationally recognized Level 1 PSIA-AASI Certification. On February 24 we will be offering an Alpine and Snowboard Level 1 exam. This is a Friday and the exam is an all day event. If you can’t do a Friday, no problem – there is another Level 1 exam scheduled in March on the weekend. Part timers and Full timers should plan on joining PSIA-AASI after February 15th (at this point) as your dues will be paid through June of 2018. Full Timer benefits include Mt. Hood Meadows paying your annual dues and I will be sharing with you the next steps to take advantage of this benefit.
Evening Clinics – The Days are Getting Longer!
Thanks to Mother Nature, and our latitude we are gaining about 3 minutes of more daylight with each passing day. This means that evening clinics are mostly “day skiing and riding” than night. And by the end of the month, we’ll be skiing and riding during evening clinics in sunglasses (well almost)! There will be several paid trainings and voluntary clinics happening every night we have night operations. Please check the clinic calendar for details here: https://mhm.snowproportal.com/calendar
February programs are starting this weekend! I’m looking forward to seeing you all over the next several days!
Thanks for all you do to make people’s lives fun and memorable!
