Hi All
Chris Barnes has asked that I send this out to the staff. It sounds like a really awesome fund raiser.
Cheers

Why am I doing this?
A good friend of mine Nans Kunz that I have known and skied with since the late 70’s was diagnosed with ALS in the fall of 2014. Nans was raised in Coos Bay, Oregon learned to ski at Hoodoo and graduated from OSU with a Mechanical Engineering degree (go Beavers), and joined NASA in 1978 where I worked with him for 12 years before I moved to Oregon. Every year I would join him and other ski buddies associated with NASA Ames Engineering for a great week of skiing at Mammoth Mountain in California.
Nans was able to join with us and enjoy our annual ski trip last year 2015. This year for one of the first times in over 35 years he was not able to and passed away from ALS during our ski week. This cruel disease progressed from diagnosis to his passing in only 15 months. We all miss him and made a run at Mammoth in his honor. Nans was also a Boy Scout leader and is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
In his honor I am participating in an ski fundraiser April 9th at Mount Hood Meadows called Ski to Defeat ALS. Please visit the ALS website and donate what you can or join my team to help raise money to defeat ALS.
