- Review how technical understanding will be assessed during exam
- Key Concepts to Review (Blend these into activities, not meant to be read to instructors):
- 6 Technical Fundamentals
- Movement concepts (flexion, extension, rotation) and common body parts used in snowboarding (ankles, knees, hips, spine) – Keep it simple!
- Review L1 materials to help candidates prep for the exam
- Review that there are three main modules for the exam – Riding, Teaching, and MA/Tech Understanding/PA
- Review overview of the exam, what to expect on exam day (please review L1 Certification guide for more information)
- How the technical fundamentals are integrated throughout the exam and are the basis for riding, MA, and teaching.
- Ensure that learners understand the Activity Chart and L1 Progression Charts and how those will be used during the exam.
- Activity Chart – Riding activities
- L1 Progression Charts – the beginner progression and the topics for teaching day
- Technical Understanding Foundations (review in detail)- basic snowboard/gear concepts (board profiles, stance options, etc), terrain, tactical choices while snowboarding.
