Level 1 clinics may be completed and repeated in any order.
This is one of four required prerequisite on snow clinics for the Alpine Level 1 exam. You must attend all 4 clinics (minimum) to be prepared for the Level I Exam.
You will have the opportunity to lead a teaching segment, as outlined below; more details may be found the PSIA-NW Certification Guide 2025.
🆕Teaching topics will not be assigned. Candidates are expected to derive the “learning outcome” for the group based on the morning roundtable and warm-up run watching their peers.
Timing
- Candidates should be prepared to teach the group at any point during the day, for up to 20 minutes.
- Although it is not necessary to fill the time given, it is recommended you continue to work with the group for the allotted time – the examiners will monitor the time for you.
- Candidates are encouraged to use the entire run.
- 🆕A chairlift ride will not be available as an option during the 20 minute teaching assessment.
You should download the PSIA-NW Alpine Certification Guide and familiarize yourself with the Level 1 Process, the Beginner Zone Skiing situations and the Skills and Fundamentals activities you will be demonstrating during the on-snow exam.
