Level 1 Teaching Part 1

This is one of six Level 1 clinics offered through Mt Hood Meadows Learning Center.  

• Full-Time Instructors are REQUIRED to attend all 6 clinics.
• Part-Time Instructors are RECOMMENDED to attend all 6 clinics.

Level 1 clinics may be completed and repeated in any order.

• Level 1 Introduction:  All Disciplines
• Level 1 Ski:  Individual Assessment Activities
• Level 1 Ski: Integrated & Versatility Activities
• Level 1 Teach Part 1:  Teaching Demo
• Level 1 Teach Part 2:  Teaching Practice
• Level 1 Movement Analysis & Technical Knowledge

During this clinic we will introduce the process and expectation of the Teaching Module of the Level 1 on-snow exam.

• The Skills Concept
• The Alpine Skiing Fundamentals
• Observe a Level 1 Teaching Segment
• Practice leading a Level 1 Teaching Segment

Download the PSIA-NW Alpine Certification Guide and familiarize yourself with the Level 1 Process, the Beginner Zone Skiing Assessment Activities and the Skills and Fundamentals activities you will be demonstrating during the on-snow exam.
