Event Type

Level 1 Skiing Part 1:

This is one of four recommended on snow clinics to help you prepare for the  Alpine Level 1 exam. We recommend you attend a minimum of two ski and two teaching/movement analysis clinics to be prepared for the Level 1 Exam.

During this clinic we will introduce the Individual, Integrated and Versatility Assessment Activities that you will need to demonstrate a Level 1 skill blend during the on-snow exam. You will also be required to teach one of these activities to your peers; being familiar with how to best perform these tasks will be an important aspect of your training.

Assessment activities include:  wedge turns, wedge christie turns, basic parallel turns, mild ungroomed small bumps, side slip to an edge set, linked forward sideslip to an edged traverse and straight run, paddle turn to a stop.

Download the PSIA-NW Alpine Certification Guide and familiarize yourself with the Level 1 Process, the Beginner Zone Skiing Assessment Activities and the Skills and Fundamentals activities you will be demonstrating during the on-snow exam.
