Inclusion in snow-sports is the idea that all individuals, regardless of ability, should have equal access to learning how to slide on snow. It’s a super rad concept.
Cognition encompasses how we think and process information. Some individuals who take lessons may have varying levels of cognitive abilities. Differences in learning and cognition may result from a diagnosis, injury, or other circumstances (examples: Autism, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, chemotherapy, PTSD, etc.). All to say, we all learn differently.
This clinic will focus on teaching techniques and strategies for working with individuals with varying cognitive abilities. All disciplines welcome! This clinic will be helpful for all instructors looking to expand their toolbox, not just those interested in teaching adaptive lessons.
