Calling in
“I’m sick”
If you are not feeling 100% well, please let us know as far in advance as possible. This prevents “calling off” someone else, who was available and wanted teach during this shift.
Calling in sick (for any reason) is as much about being conscientious and supporting other instructors as it is “following the rules”. When instructors don’t show up for work, it makes the lesson experience for other instructors more challenging and less ideal for our guests. Please think ahead if you need to reschedule a shift for a different reason and be courteous to your teammates.

“I’m going to miss my shift, and I’m not sick”
Please use this form if you will miss your shift for any reason WITHIN THREE DAYS of your scheduled shift. We ask that instructors learn to plan ahead, so as to not miss the bus or double book your schedule (just two examples). Therefore, many non-illness/injury related call outs will be ‘unexcused’.
POLICY NOTE
- After 2 unexcused absences (non-illness or injury) or excessive tardies, the Meadows Learning Center may proceed with a verbal discussion or documented coaching with the instructor on how best to support getting to work on time for scheduled shifts.
- After 5 unexcused absences or excessive tardies, an instructor may be moved from ‘Eligible for Rehire’ to ‘Conditional Rehire’.
- 2 or more No Call/No Show shifts, missing a scheduled shift without proper communication, may be considered as a Resignation without Notice and could result in termination.
