Hello MLC Instructors,
*** MESSAGE FROM GREG PACK – General Manager ***
We have been talking about COVID-19 Corona Virus as a leadership group since February 1st and making adjustments and recommendations every week and recently daily. Our stance has been we want to be proactive but remain calm and follow the guidance provided by our local and state officials. Our goal was to protect and educate our employees, families and guests but allow those who want to continue to ride and ski the ability to do so.
The overwhelming concern for the welfare of our employees and guests has guided us to the decision to suspend operations from today Sunday March 15th at 4pm through Sunday March 22nd. We will take this time to pause and evaluate the next steps in dealing with this pandemic and its impact to the remainder of the season. We will spend the week sanitizing our facilities and equipment, working with state and local health authorities and potential operating scenarios that would allow us to reopen in a responsible manner.
There still is work that needs to be done at the resort while we are closed and each department will need to work with their respective Director on those tasks. We will continue to communicate with you as the week progresses about our next steps. Remote work is possible for some team members and should be pre-approved and properly scoped with your Manager/Director.
We stand with you during this time and will make sure those who are not assisting with the work being conducted this week will be paid according to their schedule or weekly average for this period. Nobody will be required to use sick leave or vacation during this time. For payday this week, if you do not have direct deposit, please do not come to the resort for your check, they will be mailed.
Our Infection Prevention Plan is still in effect. To be socially responsible as a company, the plan states that if you experience symptoms you are to contact your manager. In a scenario where someone tests positive for COVID-19, we want good records of when they were at work, when they called in sick, so we can take appropriate measures recommended by local health officials.
Even without feeling physically sick, times like these can impact our mental health. Please take the time to remotely stay connected to friends, enjoy some positive activities, and keep up with staying hydrated, fed and rested. Get your news from a credible source. Consider others who may benefit from your assistance. If you want to get extra support, please consider using our Employee Assistance Program for free, confidential counseling. 866-750-1327
Sincerely,
Your Leadership Team
