PSSST… Don’t tell anyone. I’ve hijacked the weekly email again, HEEHEE!
Well, we are getting close to the end of the season and guess what….SNOW!!
WASHINGTON SPRING BREAK
This weekend through Tuesday looks like we may have some significant snowfall. Plus its SPRING BREAK! We may see lots of Washington Spring Breakers coming up to party hardy with us so if anyone needs to pick up an extra shift or two…This might be a good time to do it.
On April 6th through the 8th, we will be having our Spring Break Camp Session #2 for both Adults and Children. The Kids Spring Break Camp will be operating out of our Children’s Learning Center. The Adult camp will be operating out at the adult line up.
On April 9th it is our final day this season for the 5th Graders to come visit us at Mt Hood. This is one of my favorite groups that come up and takes lessons with us. I personally will be taking out as many of these kids as I can. Each time I take out one of these groups I am reminded of how much fun teaching actually is! Ahhh, I remember what life looked like through the eyes of a 5th grader, it’s Pretty Freaking Sweet!
Please feel free to come up and get some more of those days out of the way. We really could use the extra help.
END OF SEASON DETAILS
If you are done with your commitment it’s time to clean out your lockers and return your Uniforms to Employee Services. If for some reason Employee Services is Closed we will have bags in the Instructor Lounge for you to put your uniforms in and Forms to put in those bags. Each Instructor is responsible for cleaning out their lockers by the end of the season. All remaining gear found in the Lockers after the end of the season will be Donated so please be sure you remove all your items.

Mt. Hood Meadows presents the 9th annual Full Sail Banked Slalom, sponsored by Full Sail Brewing on Sunday, April 5th!
A banked slalom is a series of banked turns. The faster a rider goes, the bigger the course becomes due to the nature of the course’s high walls.
Everyone will get two runs and the combined time will be used to determine the finish order. The event is broken up into three divisions where each division is subdivided into groups for men and women. There is a cash prize purse to be split among the open and masters division winners (based on full fields) and gift cards for the junior divisions. Helmets are required for competition.
Both skiers and snowboarders can participate, filling a field of 120. Competitors will run in order of registration. Register below and be sure to choose "ski" or "snowboard" for your correct discipline.

A Word From our Friends in Food and Beverage.
Hello there-
I wanted to communicate with you all regarding last call in the Alpenstube. For the remainder of the season, last call in the Alpenstube will be at 4:30 pm. I know setting a consistent last call time will be helpful for everyone. Typically we have conducted last call between 4:15-4:30 depending on our business levels. I think not having a firm time planned can create confusion and disappointment for our employees and our guests.
Moving forward the plan is as follows:
1. Last call/closing will always be at 4:30 in the Alpenstube.
2. If we need to close /conduct last call earlier than 4:30 pm due to business levels, I will send out an email updating everyone (just as I do if we close any of our other areas early due to business levels).
3. There may be several days, due to high business levels or an event, that we will keep the Alpenstube opened even later than 4:30 pm. I will not communicate that, it will be considered a bonus.
4. Nothing will be served after last call (when you see the gates go up over the liquor).
Hopefully you find this information and system helpful. This is only an attempt to service our fellow co-workers and our guests more consistently.
Sincerely,
Barbara Gerhardt

Positive Instructor Comments
Beautiful mountain and nice instructors |
Because the employees for very nice and helpful. Made the experience easy for a beginner! |
Great ski instructor– Justin Olsen! |
great beginner school and teachers, and exelent lift personal. |
We had an amazing snowboarding instructor on Saturday March 21st! His name was Patrick, and hetaught us to board relaxed and to remember to have a great time doing it. Without him we (me, my cousin, and uncle) probably would have given up on the ballroom carpet but he helped us get on the ski lift and progress to the buttercup all in our first day on the mountain. |
Kids Spring Break Ski Camp was well enjoyed by my children. Also had great instruction and they learned a lot. |
Oh BTW…Happy Easter to those that celebrate!
