Just a few notes for today.
Tracy, Kelly, Kyle, Will, and several other of our wonderful staff are at Stevens this weekend.
If you are on the schedule, we who are here, will be SO glad to see you.
We had a wonderful February session of program lessons. Thanks to all of you who made them such a success.
There are make up lessons this weekend for our program kids and adults. If they are
Sno Blasters, they will go to the CLC for the make ups. If they are Trailblazers, College, High School, Adults, they will meet at Adult Line up area.
Sunday we have one more session of Sno Blasters, with about 20 kids, so most of you won’t be scheduled for that.
We have 8:45 informational meetings at adults and kids this weekend.
Safety tip:
One thing we need to remember in our warm weather lessons is to KEEP YOUR GLOVES ON!!!! Get some light weight park gloves or garden gloves but we want to model protective equipment on our hands. There are sharp metal edges on the snow, and an unprotected hand can get a serious cut very easily. You may wear a logo t shirt or an Hawaiian shirt on a hot day, but still KEEP YOUR HANDS COVERED. Be sure your students keep their gloves on too.
Please don’t tie up the jacket into a vest.
Teaching tip:
Remember that even in your beginner lessons, we still need to have our skis and boards on our feet for most of the lesson. We need to model how to slide on a board or ski. Walking beside our students does not give them a visual example of what we are trying to teach them to do. Put the tool on your feet and hop, slide, or jump those beginners to a great lesson.
Moc Exams are coming next weekend, stay tuned for announcements of when. We usually meet on the snow in the adult line up area.
We will be doing our end of the year party and awards in April, It’s coming soon. Be thinking about whom you would nominate for Co Worker of the year, it is your award that you vote for.
