I hope everyone enjoyed your “week off” from the mountain. Here is this week’s update.

 

Upcoming Events

·        End of Season Ski and Ride School Party – Sunday, April 24th 4-6 pm.

·        Kona Pond Skim April 30th

·        Clinics

·        PSIA/AASI  – You can sign up for the Level 1 exams and the Member Ski School Clinics on www.mhm.snowproportal.com and the other clinics on www.psia-nw.org .

o   April 23rd and 24th – Member Ski School Clinics

§  Cost is $50 with educational credit, $40 without educational credit. Sign up thru snow pro portal or email mark.fischer@skihood.com  

§  Registration begins at 8am in the Snoblaster Room.

o   April 23 – 24th – Children’s Specialist 1

o   April 23-24th – Freestyle Specialist 1 and 2

o   Level 1 Exams (Dates and Info will be on the snowproportal)

·        End of the Season Procedure – It’s that time again when the season has started winding down and most of you have fulfilled your committed days.

o   Let us know when it’s your last day

o   If you are done and do not think you will coming back up to ski or ride, please turn in your uniform and clean all your personal items out of your locker.

o   If you think you will be back up skiing before the end of the season, but won’t be teaching, you are welcome to leave your personal belongings, but please turn in your uniform.

o   Take your uniform to Laundry, if laundry is not open, place in clear plastic bag with name and leave in front of Sue’s office.

o   All personal gear must be cleaned out by May 14th.  Any gear left in lockers will be donated.

§  Immediate Action

·         Supervisors are looking at everyone’s schedule and are contacting staff that still needs to complete their committed amount of days. 

·         We have just finished a Spring Hiring clinic that has hired 6 new alpine instructors and 3 new snowboard instructors for next year that can start at the beginning of the season.

§  Future Plans

·         We will have our job posting up through the summer and will start hiring process for next season starting much earlier.

·         We plan to go to Job Fairs and will be recruiting throughout the summer during our summer MTP events.

·         Our goal is to hire 80 full time instructors for next year.

·         We will be evaluating next seasons scheduling options and commitments days.
