SUMMARY:SB Level 1: Movement Analysis (MA) and Personal Analysis (PA)
DESCRIPTION:Level 1 Snowboard: Movement Analysis &amp\; Personal Analysis\n
\nLevel 1 clinics may be completed in any order!\n\n\n \n\n Materials to
  Reference:\n MA Basics: Observation\, Evaluation\, Prescription\n Snowb
 oard Technical Manual\n L1 MA/Technical Understanding Assessment Form\n
Key Concepts to Review (Blend these into activities\, not meant to be read
to instructors):\n\n MA/TU/PA makes up ⅓ of the L1 exam (4 hours total
) - Review format for exam. You can also draw in the snow to demonstrate t
he flow of the MA/TU/PA portion of the exam.\n Movement analysis is objec
tive - not good\, not bad\, what is. Candidates need to be able to perform
basic movement analysis\, identify a cause and effect chain (body → boa
rd or board → snow interaction)\, and prescribe one change for a rider.\
n Candidates need to be able to identify which phase of turn or ATML move
ments are happening.\n Review movement concepts in more depth - flexion\,
extension\, rotation.\n Review board performance concepts &amp\; how fun
damentals connect. \n MA should mostly focus on lower body joints (knees
 \, hips\, and ankles) for L1.\n Review Observation\, Evaluation\, and Pre
scription\n Share with candidates that they will also be assessed on thei
r technical understanding during this portion of the exam.\n Personal Ana
lysis (PA)- see next page for details. Review that self-awareness and unde
rstanding how their bodies move during each riding activity. Review that w
e want them to reflect on what they are ACTUALLY doing\, not the ideal. PA
is meant to be objective\, just like MA!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClinicians: Lauren
Yaeger\n\nPrior to the clinic\, please review these certification resource
s\, the NW Cert Guide is a comprehensive guide that can be used for a deep
